What People Say
We had a perfect stay at Lindsey’s home. During our stay of almost four weeks, we particularly enjoyed the great equipment and interior of the flat, the quiet and green surroundings, and the picturesque view from the grounds. It’s a great place to endure the summer heat with a cool ground floor. Also, there are plenty of things to do for kids within a short drive. Lindsey was the perfect host, flexible, accommodating our needs, and caring.
We had a fantastic and relaxing week with Lindsay and her family. The accommodation is very tastefully decorated and tip top equipped (we could drink delicious coffee on the terrace every day). The contact with the hosts was also so warm and we were able to come to them with all concerns. We highly recommend it! We have really relaxed there very well.
We stayed here in mid August and couldn’t have found somewhere more perfect. The dome is situated in the most beautiful, serene location with no road noise. The kitchen area outside is well stocked with a three ring hob and clean water available 30 seconds away, as well as a BBQ if you want. The bathroom area is also lovely with a great shower and in the next room is a large fridge freezer that we had to ourselves. The dome itself is decorated beautifully with attention to detail and lovely little touches like fairy lights on the ceiling and a bottle of wine waiting on arrival. The bed was really comfortable and even in august, we weren’t woken hugely early by light thanks to good curtains – the solar powered fan in the roof is also a lifesaver. Lindsay and Daryl were extremely helpful and attentive, whilst cultivating a lovely sense of privacy. Overall we have nothing but positive feedback for Lindsay and Da and hope to stay again in the future.
A benevolent and discreet welcome, a bed with a thick duvet that was not too cool under the coolness of the dome and an outdoor kitchen that allows you to connect with nature and enjoy the calm outside.cIt was a nice time for family connection.
At Home in Nature
From deers to incredible birds, wildlife is all around us… Almost every month our guests talk about their charming encounters with the local wildlife. From the dome you can also enjoy watching the grazing horses.
This is especially true if you are a bit of a ‘twitcher’. The area boasts an incredible array of bird species and we’ve no doubt you’ll get close sightings of some of the most impressive.
Buzzards, Kites, Harriers, Kestrels and Peregrines are a familiar sight. If you’re lucky you’ll spot owls and pheasants on your doorstep. Drive by the marshes, you’ll see storks and herons.
And if that’s not enough, two of the nearest ports (10-15 minute drive) both offer nature reserves and a bird sanctuary

Perfect for cycling adventures
We are situated just 10 mins (drive) away from Port Vitrezay, on the banks of Europe’s largest estuary, The Gironde.
Bike hire is available during the holiday season from Vitrezay and there are plenty of quiet tracks to explore along the coast.
Or, if you are a serious bike enthusiast, why not join the Véloroutes stretch of the famous ‘Two Seas Canal’? (Le Canal des 2 mers à vélo)
To the North, we have a 25km route to the picturesque Mortagne-sur-Gironde. Continue over the Gironde cliffs North to Royan and extend your journey by a further 39km.
If a once in a lifetime cycle tour excites you, why not head south all the way to the Mediterranean! A 750km track coast to coast (Royan – Sète)
Life at Linden Meadow
The Girls (chickens) and Cats are a large part of our family… Check out our Instagram to get a feel for the vibe. Our whole family welcome you to stay.
Our French Story
This is us. The Welsh family (my husband Daryl is Cornish, but lived in Wales for long enough to earn the title). We moved here in 2020 and it’s been a whirlwind, to say the least.
We loved Wales but always craved more. More space, more freedom and more sunshine! Our dream for Linden Meadow is to be more self-sufficient and grow as much fruit and vegetables as possible. While offering a holiday home experience and glamping extravaganza.
We’d love to welcome you here on holiday. It’s a tranquil spot where we hope you can stay and recharge.
And if not, then thank you for following us on our journey.
Lindsay, Daryl, and family!

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I book directly through you or Just on AirBnB?
We prefer to take bookings through AirBnB as the platform works hard to protect guests and hosts. However, please get in touch if you would like to discuss alternative booking arrangements.
WHATS YOUR NEAREST AIRPORT?
Bordeaux Merignac is our nearest international airport. It is a little over an hour away and operates regular flights to many major European cities. From the UK, EasyJet operates flights from Bristol and Birmingham. There is also a wide selection of care hire companies at the airport.
Limoges Bellegarde is another airport to consider, especially if you are flying from the UK. It is just over 2 hours away from us.
Flights from London Stanstead to Limoges depart year-round. There are also summer departures from Leeds Bradford, Liverpool, East Midlands and Manchester.
We want to move to the area, can you help us?
Absolutely! We’ve had first hand experience so can help with everything from recommending areas, introducing you to property agencies, and answering any questions you have about moving here.
HOW FAR AWAY ARE THE TOILETS FROM THE DOME?
The toilet and shower block are located in a separate outhouse, about 25m away from the dome.
IS THE SWIMMING POOL AVAILABLE ALL YEAR?
The weather is lovely here but the pool is outdoors and heated only by the sun. So you wouldn’t want to bathe all year round! Unless you’re Wim Hof?
So we typically make the pool available between June and September, which are the warmest months.
Do you offer long term stay?
Yes! We offer long-stay discounts via our Airbnb booking platform. But we also encourage you to contact us directly if you wish to stay for several months or discuss other plans.
DO YOU ALLOW DOGS?
Because there are chickens, cats and small children on site, we only allow very small dogs in the gite. Please get in touch with details about your pet before booking.
We can’t have any four-legged guests in the dome though. We find glamping isn’t typically their bag.
IS BREAKFAST INCLUDED?
Breakfast is not included in your stay. Unless you wish to eat blackberries. Then help yourself.
However, we personally recommend a boulangerie in a neighbouring village, 5 minutes away, that bakes delicious fresh bread and pastries.
And we do provide coffee and tea.
Do you offer food?
We don’t include any meals with our stays.
The gite has full kitchen facilities, with French gite classification rating.
The dome has a gas camping stove in the outdoor kitchen area. A fridge and microwave are also available in a nearby outhouse.
You can explore local restaurants on our Airbnb guidebook. Plus, we recommend the pizza van which is in the next village twice a week.
Do you offer Work Stay?
Sorry, not typically. However do get in touch to discuss your plans. There are always projects on the go and we will do what we can to accommodate your plans if it works well for everybody.
